Dictionary sources and notices

Drop uses published dictionary records. Each displayed sense links to its original entry. Extracted fields, definition-text vectors and experimental rankings are adaptations; they are not statements of intended meaning by the dictionary contributors.

Music

Banjo Prophecy by Feral Pharaoh. The seven-track player includes supplied lyrics and recorded story cues. Lyric timing has not been human-reviewed. Music retains its existing rights; dictionary licenses do not apply to the album.

Translation dictionaries and Lojban

The public dictionary explorer also uses the installed comparison sources. Their recorded notices and source links are retained below. The English-to-Spanish meaning suggestions use the direct WikDict supplement; an entry citation is not an exact cross-language sense mapping.

# Dictionary source notices

This addition is a local index of separately attributed dictionary sources. No new license is asserted over the original dictionary content. Original archives and JSON are retained in `.local/lexical-comparison/sources`; the source lock gives their URLs and digests. The generated index is a derived lookup aid. Distribution of that index must retain applicable dictionary license terms, attribution, source access and notices.

## FreeDict

- English–French 0.1.6, French–English 0.4.1 and Spanish–English 0.3.1: GPL version 2 or later, as declared in their TEI headers. Complete archives retain COPYING, source headers and individual credits.
- English–Spanish, French–Spanish and Spanish–French 2025.11.23: CC BY-SA 3.0 Unported, as declared in their TEI headers; WikDict / Karl Bartel / underlying contributors. Complete archives retain source and attribution metadata.

Meaning suggestions are experimental. Cosine is not confidence, and eight-dimensional position is not a validated measure of intended meaning. Source choices and review controls remain visible alternatives.

Calculations use the dictionaries on this server. Drop does not use an external language-model API, an account or the Looking Glass participant database. Sentence text and review choices are not saved by the application. The hosting infrastructure necessarily handles network requests; use public or non-sensitive example sentences.
